Frequently asked questions

Which firms does Syglum cover?

Syglum currently covers 30 global law firms selected for their relevance to competition for major clients, matters and senior talent.

The group is a coverage universe, not a ranking. Each user chooses which of those firms to follow.

What is the inclusion threshold?

For transactions, the general threshold is $1 billion.

Some events are tracked regardless of value because deal size is not a useful measure of their importance. These include:

  • partner and team moves
  • litigation and regulatory matters
  • matters where a tracked firm is itself a party
  • selected significant mandates where no value is disclosed
  • first-of-kind legal technology and AI deployments

The full rules are set out on the Methodology page.

How current is the data?

Syglum runs verification sweeps twice each day.

New records are added once there is enough evidence to publish them. Existing records may be updated when a later source clarifies a firm's role, a transaction value or another material fact.

How do you know you have not missed something?

We do not claim perfect coverage.

In September 2026, we ran a 14-day recall audit across the 30 tracked firms using the same inclusion rules published on the Methodology page. Syglum captured approximately 97% of the qualifying events identified in that review.

The misses remained in the result, were documented and investigated. Where a source gap could be fixed, it was.

That is a point-in-time test, not a guarantee. Coverage continues to be checked.

What does High confidence mean?

High means the material facts are supported by a primary or direct source, or by strong corroboration across credible sources.

That might be a court filing, regulatory record, transaction document, company announcement, firm announcement or well-sourced reporting.

Medium is used when the reporting is credible but the evidence is less direct, or when an important detail cannot yet be confirmed to the same standard.

Syglum does not publish a Low-confidence tier.

Can I see the original source?

Yes.

Every published event includes the source used to verify it, the relevant evidence quote and a link back to the source.

Additional sources are shown where they were used.

If two credible sources disagree, for example on a transaction value, the record can preserve both and explain the difference.

Can I search for a client or person?

Yes.

Explore searches across headlines, summaries, clients, counterparties, matters, people and firms.

Results can also be filtered by firm, category, practice, geography, confidence and date.

People Moves provides a separate view of individual movements between tracked firms.

Can we follow only the firms that matter to us?

Yes.

Each user creates a watchlist from the 30 covered firms. The home feed and the weekly email digest are based on that watchlist.

Can you add firms outside the current coverage universe?

Not under the standard product today.

Syglum currently uses a defined universe of 30 firms so that the same research and verification process can be maintained across the full set.

Coverage may expand over time. Custom firm universes are not part of the standard product today.

What happens in the first 60 days?

The first 60 days are a paid evaluation: full access for the whole firm for $2,000, so your team can judge Syglum against its existing workflow.

See pricing

What if it is not worth it?

Do not continue after the evaluation. There is no auto-conversion: continuing at $2,000/month requires your explicit yes.

How is this different from Law360?

Law360 tells you that an event happened. Syglum keeps the event as a structured record that can be searched six months later alongside related matters, people and firms.

For example, a partner move can be recorded with the person, departure firm, destination firm, practice, geography and source evidence. It then becomes part of the searchable history rather than remaining only as an article or alert.

How is this different from Vable or another current-awareness platform?

Vable helps collect and distribute source material. Syglum maintains the normalized event record behind it.

Syglum identifies a qualifying event, establishes the relevant facts, reconciles the available sources and keeps the result as a structured historical record.

A firm may use both.

How is this different from our own CI or research team?

It is not meant to replace them.

An internal team knows which partner needs to see something, whether it matters to a particular client and what the firm should do with it.

Syglum handles a narrower piece of work: monitoring the covered firms, checking the underlying sources, structuring the facts and keeping the history so that the same basic research does not have to be reconstructed each time.

Can I send Syglum material to partners?

Yes.

Users can generate a sourced Brief, or select records, change the order and add their own context.

A Brief can then be shared internally or exported for use in the firm's existing workflow.

The weekly email digest follows each user's own watchlist.

Is Syglum a complete record of everything these firms do?

No.

Syglum applies defined inclusion rules to publicly observable information. It is not a complete matter census.

Some work is never disclosed publicly. Some is disclosed only after a delay. The absence of a record should not be treated as proof that no underlying activity occurred.

Who is using Syglum today?

Syglum is opening its first founding firm licenses in September 2026. Customer references are therefore not yet available.

The current database contains 3,977 source-verified events across 30 firms. The inclusion methodology is public, and coverage has been tested through a documented recall audit.
